Life is Good

Campbell’s Vegetable Soup.  I love the stuff.  I have found this out as I got in some gaming last night and stayed up all night long for what is probably my last time in a long time.  =)  Well I found it out just a little while ago as I slept a good part of the day away and finally had the stomach to eat.

Discovery’s “The Deadliest Catch” is another one of those things that I love and there is a rerun on right now and I can watch it again.  My Mrs. didn’t see it on Tuesday and I am happy to say that I outdid Captain Sig and lasted well over 3.5 hours of not smoking.  LOL  “He’s a chain smoker…” to which I replied, “They all are.”

I could have said “we all are…” but that last part comes from past experience where fisherman all smoked during the downtimes and well, I am not fishing on the boat anymore.  It is funny how cigarettes have become a part of the worksite isn’t it?  Fireman seem to all smoke after the fire goes out and I am happy that I responded to a near tragedy early this morning only to find that the house was filled with smoke from a stovetop fire that nearly got away.  nearly.  I did not miss that smell at all but I am responding so perhaps my desire to stay home is leaving me.  Finally.  Still, if I was out of the house all of the time I might miss out on some of Life’s littlest and happiest surprises.

George the Third is snoozing, sleeping off his first party.  LOL  One of the neighbors daughter turned one today and he was invited.  I hear he was the life of the party as he danced and stole the show a few times.  LOL

He also surprised my wife and I as he tried to follow my wife downstairs.  There are 14 risers on the stairs with the last three at the bottom curving and he made it from the top down to about the fourth or fifth stair on his own.  He rocks.  =)

I also love Applewood Smoked Cheddar and can you imagine how awesome a grilled cheese with that would go with a bowl of Campbell’s Vegetable Soup?  I am feeling pretty good right now.  =)  No desire for a (Hi NIAC!) ‘ciggy’, life is good.

Of course I have one more day of being a bum on the couch before I start working on Monday morning so I guess I will see if I can join someone for a game online tonight or simply play the shit out of inFAMOUS and finish the Hero side before I get tired again.

My gaming will now be relegated to ‘after work’ hours so those of you on the East Coast, I will be away from my console/computer between the hours of 12pm and 8pm on workdays.

That four minute communte is going to kill me.  =P

Yeah Life is good.  I hope you are all doing good, enjoy your week.  I hope I will.  =)

  1. Yay for George. And Heather. And the boys.

  3. That’s a terrible commute… :-)

I prefer vegetable beef soup. Just bought that and chicken noodle soup to alternate for my lunches at work.

  4. BTW – (Julie’s soup comment reminded me) – I basically eat homemade soups (I make them) and if I had to pick a soup, canned, that I really like – tomato.

  5. Yup..I only eat canned (Campbells) tomato soup and after that it’s homemade. But I’m not much of a soup person in general…

Wow George, your commute sounds as bad as mine! LOL I hope you enjoy your new job, I think you will at least like parts of it :D

Yay for progress in the right non-smoking direction! And for the little guy growing up so fast..LOL

  6. I eat soup just about everyday for lunch so I go the route of canned soup a lot of the time. I like all kinds of soups, but I usually take broth based soups to work.

Mona makes great soup, but we don’t have it all the time. When she does I do take that to work.

She is making a 15 bean soup today. :-)

  7. I don’t think I can name 15 beans. LOL.

I don’t make cream soups anymore – too heavy. Ya, I know that the French thrive on that stuff … but too heavy. If there is a chicken, turkey, beef roast … there’s soup being made. I also make meatball and vegetable, but not “Wedding” soup.

Hmm… meatballs. Ok, must go make something for supper.

  8. NIAC is a soup guy, cool. =) Well the first morning is in the books. Cutting grass with an gas powered weed whacker. Grass got whacked this morning. LOL

Vegetable beef soup (Chunky Soup) today with a roast beef sandwich. =P

I am finding that not only do I have to get used to the hours, I have to get used to eating early in the day. dammit I might get healthy here. =P

Going to be drinking a lot of water.

  9. yay!

  10. Well the name of some of the beans are somewhat generic. The beans game from a bag of mixed beans which says the following in the ingredients:

Contains 16 of these varieties (ok 16 bean soup). Baby Lima Beans, Green Split Peas, Lentils, Navy Beans, Great Northern Beans, Large Lima Beans, Black Eye Peas, Black Beans, Light Red Kidney Beans, Pink Beans, Pinto Beans, Small Read Beans, Yellow Split Peas, Green Whole Peas, Garbanzo Beans, Red Lentils, Pearl Barley and Small White Beans.

ok… some of these are technically the same bean, just different sizes, some are peas not beans and I don’t think Barley sould count as a bean, but I don’t actually see any barley in the bag.

    …and the soup is good.

  11. I make a kick ass ham and potato soup.
    Smoking, I’m down to about 1/2 pack a day……..

  12. That soup sounds kinda good. ;)

NO, Seth, not your pig-enriched soup. LOL. (I don’t dig on swine).

You know – and this is very “philosophic” but quite true: Quitting smoking is actually quite easy. Wanting to quit – that’s a bitch.

  13. I could not live without the swine. Ham, chops, loin, bacon, pulled bbg, mmmmmmm

  14. We do put some ham in the soup and mona has been using some Indian spices for the bean soups she has been making.

  15. Split pea soup with ham. *lipsmack* OMG I am hungry. It is a good thing I am home for lunch.

I like a nice hearty soup, the kind that stick to your stomach. I once tried Saskatchewan’s Best Soup while in Saskatoon, I think it was like a wild rice and mushroom soup.

Half a pack? Yeah you can get that down to two or three a day Seth. I am trying to quit and I have like three or four in the past few days and that was more than anything, habit. I can beat this. You can too, otherwise you will have to live with the knowledge that I beat you at something. LOL
